Some Global Warming Statistics

While most of the people accept global warming as a fact, some still reject that humans play a big role. Unfortunately politics are often concerned, and while I don't desire to attempt to change any one's mind, it's valuable to look at some probabilistic facts. These come from the Intergovernmental Panel on global warming's ( IPCC ) 2007 working group assessment report, which is available for free online . The IPCC is a systematic panel under the United nations.


Over the last fifty years, the warming trend is just about twice that of the previous 50 years, so that the rate of temperature rise is inflating.
This is a surprising fact!

Also, the Environmental Protection Agency reports that the sea level along the Gulf and Mid Atlantic has risen 5 to six inches more than the average in the prior century.

obviously the earth is warming and with this warming, snow and ice are melting and the seas are rising. Humans and our activities are contributing to the rapid increase in temperature, and the sole questions that remain is how serious is it and how should we react.
I for one am no alarmist, but it is's troublesome to debate with the facts presented above. I'm making an attempt to do my part to help combat global temperature rises and suggest everyone else do what they can as well.
